Enshrining the Earth

Santa Fe Studio Tour, Stop #37

Saturday September 21st & Sunday September 22nd

Saturday September 28th & Sunday September 29th

11am-5pm all dates

Sabrina will show new works focused on protecting New Mexico's environment. This exhibition is part of the Santa Fe Studio Tour and includes gold-leaf images of Tesuque Creek, with proceeds supporting efforts to nominate the Rio Tesuque as an Outstanding Natural Resource Water.

Testing and studies are necessary for this nomination.

Sabrina’s art aims to raise awareness about environmental issues, using gold and silk. Recent protests against treated sewage dumping in Tesuque Creek have made these issues more personal for her. New Mexico is one of just three states without its own water quality standards.

Additionally, Staires will showcase more works that emphasize the importance of our natural world, especially in wild New Mexico. Her latest collection will be displayed in a welcoming salon style setting, encouraging conversations among guests.

2nd Skin | Emergence of the Divine Feminine

12 minute meditative film

The rights of women remain a critical issue in the current election cycle. Despite living in an era marked by advanced AI and almost sci-fi-like developments, we still fall short in acknowledging women's autonomy over their own bodies. This ongoing neglect reflects a deeper disregard for the feminine experience and worth.

Women often create a "2nd Skin"—a socially acceptable façade that conceals their true feelings and allows them to survive within a patriarchal society. Through both video and still photography, including layered double exposures, I have worked with women to visually represent their hidden struggles and their emergence into honoring their divine feminine.

The images are often abstract, dreamlike, and slow-motion, designed to evoke reflection and meditation. This exhibition will be presented as a meditation installation, inviting viewers to engage in quiet contemplation of these themes.
